IMPORTANCE OF YOGA
PHYSICAL PURITY: Internal organs of our body can be cleaned by various yogic exercises.Neti, Dhoti, Nauli , Basti , Kapala Bhati and Tratak are such yogic exercises which keep the internal organs of our body in a clean state.We should perform these yogic exercises regularly for the proper cleanliness and purity of our internal organs.
CURE AND PREVENTION FROM DISEASES: Yoga not only prevents us from many diseases but also cures them. Various yogic exercises increase the immunity power of an individual. If an individual performs yogic exercises regularly, he cannot fall prey to diseases. Vajrasana cures diabetes. A large number of diseases such as bronchitis, sinusitis, arthritis, gastritis, dyspepsia,asthma,high blood pressure, leprosy, hay fever, heart attack, scitics, menstrual disorders, stress, urinary disorders, back-pain, hysteria can be prevented as well as cured by various yogic exercises.
REDUCES MENTAL TENSION: Yoga can help in reducing tension. It is a well-known fact that most of the persons remain under stress and tension. They think that money can bring happiness and peace to their life but it further intensifies their stress and tension. Pratyahar, Dharana , Dhyan play a vital role for getting peace of mind. Makarasana, Shavasana , Shalabhasana, Suptasana and Bhujangasana are beneficial for releasing stress and tension.

Pray Before Yoga Activity
1. Take a deep breath and release slowly while chanting ‘Aum’ – three times.
2. Chant Gayatri Mantra – three times:
Aum Bhuh Bhuvah Svah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yo Na Prachodayat
Meaning ” “O Divine Mother, our hearts are filled with darkness, please remove this darkness from us and promote illumination within us”.
3.Chant Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra – once
Om Trayambakam Yajaamahe
Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam
Urvaarukamiva Bandhanaan
Mrityor Muksheeya Maamritaat
Meaning : “We worship the three-eyed ‘One’ (Lord Shiva) who is fragrant and who nourishes well all beings; may He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality even as the cucumber is severed from its bondage (to the creeper)”
4. Om Sah Nav vatu; Sah Nau Bhunaktu;
Sah Veeryam Karavavahai;
Tejaswi Na Dhitamastu;
Ma Vidvi shavahai.
Meaning : “O God, we save each other; we nourish each other; we get strength from each other; we get full of knowledge; we never be jealous of others”.
